Steps
- slice2 mineven halves, air fryer preheatingSplit the bagels horizontally into even halves. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F / 190°C and arrange the halves so air can circulate; cook in batches if they do not fit in a single layer.
- top3 min1 to 2 tablespoons of sauce per half, no more, spread thin and evenTop the cut bagel halves with a thin layer of sauce, then the mozzarella and pepperoni. Use no more than 1–2 tablespoons of sauce per half so the crumb does not become wet.
- bake7 minair fryer, 375°F / 190°C, one layerAir-fry at 375°F / 190°C for about 5–7 minutes, checking for melted cheese and lightly browned edges. Do not add the reference recipe’s separate broiler step. Continue with the short uncovered rest before serving.
- rest3 minuncovered, before servingLet the finished bagels rest uncovered for 2–3 minutes before serving so the molten cheese can settle. Do not stack or cover them, which traps steam and softens the base.
